Handy Emergency Supplies – Basic Essentials
Complete Lists
Many people stock no more than a fews days worth of food and water, if anything at all. Perhaps they can’t seem to fathom the need. Hopefully they’re right, everything will be just fine.
Nonetheless, it’s a good idea to have essentials on hand for emergencies. Unforeseen circumstances can warrant such necessities.
Natural Organic Grains and Seeds
Sprouting grains maximizes their nutritional and food values, and their grasses compound their nutritional value MANY fold. One could easily and healthily live on such stores.
The Power of Community
There is also a great power in community. Working with and relying upon a others maximizes survivability. Isolationism is not usually a successful survivability model.
~~~
Our emphasis is on healthful raw and organic food and natural organic clothing supplies. However, this list contains many non organic items.
This list was compiled for families who may wish to share their supplies with neighbors, friends as well as use for bartering. If they are on the road, they might want to have treats and small shareable treat packs for children they might come across.
It is important to think of self preservation and self protection. However, rather than adopting an isolationist viewpoint, it behooves one’s best interest to focus on on community involvement.
Know your neighbors and community members. In emergencies, work together for the common good. A community that works together stands strong together. Acting as independent, self supporting individuals rather than a group, a community will crumble. This is because there are powerful and far reaching benefits when people pool their talents together in a supportive, cohesive group.
As always, a good premier rule is, Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself. Equally important, Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You.
Weapons & Hunting Gear
Some may feel the necessity to stock weapons and ammunition. If so, having a small caliber hand gun, rifle and hunting knife are basic. Stock plenty of ammunition as it will be difficult to replace. Have oil and maintenance tools as well.
Hunting and fishing gear is a matter of personal preference. Hunters and fishermen will know what their preferences are.
For those unfamiliar with such pursuits, have good books on the matter and stock gear safely. Learn how to use your gear properly. Hunting, self protection and fishing gear can cause grave injuries to the novice when improperly used and maintained.
“A few tricks to prepare against natural disaster: Don’t panic when
something “beyond expectation” happens, and get ready to improvise.
I’ve learned the lesson from 1995 Hanshin Earthquakes. You cannot avoid
“unexpected” disaster or accident no matter how much you prepared. When something “beyond expectation” happans, first, accept it, second, improvise it to minimize the damage. Ask for help or offer a help within what you can do. DON’T DO anything that you don’t know how.”
