What Is the Very Best Blender For Making a Smoothie?
There are two most powerful and popular blenders. They are also the most expensive. They are the Blendtec blender and the Vitamix blender. The reason these two are considered the best is because of their speed and high horsepower motors. Their super fast powerful blade action can make large smoothies in mere seconds.
So… which of these powerhouse blenders is the “best?” This is a very subjective question. Both work equally quickly. The things to consider are:
1. Do you want a tamper that you can push down ingredients while blending, right through the top, and blade and jar separate? If so, Vitamix is your blender of choice.
2. Do you prefer a slightly higher horsepower blender that has less super sharp blades (easier to clean) and comes in blade and jar single assembly? If so, then Blendtec is the blender for you.
We love the tamper for making thick, green smoothies. On the other hand, the Blendtec is slightly faster. If we had our druthers, we would get both. : ) But, because our budget is a concern, we have opted for a third choice:
What Is the Best, Yet Least Expensive Blender For Making Smoothies?
After careful consideration, we opted for the Oster. Why? For one thing, we have a family heirloom Osterizer that has lasted over 35 years and is STILL working.
Our Oster has not disappointed us. It is powerful enough to crush ice with our smoothies and can handles any ingredients we have thrown in. These include hard carrots, stringy greens and even cabbage and brussel sprouts.
Yes, we have made smoothies with these things. You can believe that bananas and fruit make almost ANY veggie taste good in a smoothie.
The trick?
Not too much of the “yuckier” stuff. : )
Oster 16 speed low cost high performance blender - durable, attractive, large full glass container. High quality, not too noisy, stable. We love this blender. : )
The Blendtec Blender has spiffy digital controls and blue display - attractive and powerful but a little noisy.
This Vitamix model has 3 main hardware controls which we like. : )
